PhotoStories 1 Each photograph has its own story. Especially the one you get from the plane. We offer to you a new series of PhotoStories taken by the USA 2016 expediton. Today story of the Cape Canaveral space shuttle runway on Kennedy´s Space Center.
To make a touch and go landing or at least a low pass over the Space Shuttle runway at Cape Canaveral had been one of my aviation dreams. I applied for the approval to do that long before our flying expedition „Around USA 2017“. However, it was refused and subsequent request as well. When passing by Cape Canaveral on our journey from Orlando to New Orleans, we asked once more in flight over the radio.
Surprisingly, we got the permission straight away. It was for a low pass over the runway without a possibility of a touch and go. Later I learnt that the reason why we were allowed to do so was that it was Saturday. The same as armies of other countries, the U.S. army does not fight on week-ends... That is great as it allowed me to fulfil this one of my many aviation dreams. We overflew and filmed one of the longest and most famous runways in the world…
